“Every
season my father would go back and forth to follow the migrant seasons. In the
beginning he brought only my older sisters because they could work and so the
younger ones stayed behind. When he went back to Mexico my mother used to tell
him this is not what a family should be like. She told him, 'either you come and
settle back here in Mexico or you take us all with you.' In 1973. he brought us
all here.”
