“My
younger boy, Alejandro, he wants to go to a University. He knows, just like his
older brother Ruben, that it is important for them to receive an education. They
also know and believe that the purpose behind that education needs to be one which
is based on social justice. They know we use education as a tool to bring about
social change and to try to get rid of exploitation in our communities and the
domination of one group of people over another. My hope is that what I’m
doing right now is kind of laying a strong foundation so that perhaps they will
pick up where I will leave off, and boom, run with it.”
