think many folks coming from Latino America come here to the United States because
it is the land of opportunity. The thought perhaps that they would find a job
that would allow them to survive and be able to pay for food, shelter and clothing
bring them here. That's what happened with my mom's side of the family because
they wanted to own something they could call their own. In Mexico there was no
opportunity for them to own property, buy a house, get an education or prepare
for a better lifestyle.”
