“When
I first came to the desert we lived at Avenue 71, then we lived on the Indian
reservation, and then my parents qualified for a loan for a permanent foundation
home in North Shore. That's where they are living now. In the beginning my dad
lived in a small 1 bedroom,1 bath house. He lived there for 16 years and when
we all lived there we used to sleep in the living room. We just put some blankets
on the floor and everybody used to crash right there. Sometimes when we got home
late at night we couldn't see who was sleeping on the floor and we would try not
to step on them.”
